- General Education credit hours are common across all UT Martin majors.
- Business Core credit hours are common across all UT Martin business majors (i.e., Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, Marketing, and Information Systems).

Major in Marketing (4620)
The goal of the marketing curriculum (4620) is to provide students the skills and knowledge to create, communicate, deliver, and exchange offerings that are valued by customers and other stakeholders.
Marketing majors may pursue careers in advertising and promotions management, professional sales, marketing research, retail management, product development and brand management, fundraising, and strategic marketing management. Through a variety of electives, such as event planning and corporate promotions, social media and digital marketing, and services marketing, majors can choose between two concentrations and can customize their curriculum to uniquely position themselves for the job market or business ownership, or design their degree toward their own unique areas of interest.
The focus on communication, interpersonal skills, technology, and research methods also makes the marketing degree excellent preparation for graduate work in law, business, and other disciplines.
Major Core Course Requirements for Marketing (12 credit hours)
Concentration in Strategic Marketing (4621)
Course Requirements for Strategic Marketing Concentration:
Upper Division Marketing Electives (15 Hours)
Choose 15 hours from any 300-level or 400-level Marketing courses.
Upper Division Business Electives (6 Hours)
Choose 6 hours from any 300-level or 400-level courses chosen from Accounting, Business Administration, Business Law, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, and/or Sport Management. Courses chosen to satisfy the 15 hours of upper division marketing electives will not count toward the 6 hours of business electives.
Electives (4+ credit hours)
Completing the General Education requirements, Business Core Requirements, and Major Core /Concentration Requirements should allow a student to have four (4) or more credit hours in free electives. These electives can be taken in any business or non-business course. Regarding physical activity courses, a student is limited to a maximum of eight (8) semester hours of physical activity courses to count toward degree requirements (imposed even if student seeks double degree) with only two (2) physical activity courses to be taken for credit during any given semester.
