Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fine and Performing Arts (B.F.A.) - Concentration in Teaching - Art Education (2112)
Students in the B.F.A. degree program in Fine and Performing Arts produces graduates who:
- exhibit skill and depth of application in the primary emphasis: visual art, graphic design, art education, dance education, or theatre
- integrate knowledge and practice of other arts disciplines into their primary emphasis;
- apply critical and analytical methodologies in their primary emphasis;
- demonstrate a broad understanding of the scope of the arts and their contribution to a global society;
- construct a personal aesthetic perspective.
Core coursework develops foundational skills and knowledge for all areas of the Arts. Concentration-specific coursework builds on those foundational skills and knowledge to develop expertise in a broad area of interest. These courses are required for every program in this major with the exception of the education degrees where fewer core courses are required due to the demand of the education licensure requirements. Additional coursework within the concentration allows students to refine and focus skills to best suit the student’s chosen career path.
This major does not require the completion of a minor.
