Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Major in International Studies
The B.A. with a major in International Studies is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for today’s more globalized world. Whether you plan to work in Tennessee, Washington DC, or abroad, understanding our complex world and its diverse population are crucial skills. The program develops students’ abilities to engage in critical thinking and communicate effectively. COURSEWORK REQUIRED FOR THE DEGREE
Guidance for choosing general education courses:
It is preferred that students in the International Diversity and Multiculturalism concentration take SOC 201, SOC 202 and/or PSYC 101 for the Social and Behavior Sciences requirement.
Note to students: Some degree programs include required courses for the major that are also options within the University-Wide General Education Requirements. If a student completes a course that simultaneously satisfies both a requirement for the major and a requirement for the University-Wide General Education Requirements, then the student may need to complete additional elective coursework in order to meet the minimum number of credit hours required for the degree.
