AGED 200 - Introduction to Agriculture Education Profession

Students will explore elements of formal and non-formal agricultural education careers, occupational requirements, and professional responsibilities of agricultural educators in a variety of settings. Topics will include, but not limited to, history and philosophical foundations of agricultural education; discussion of school-based, extension, and other agricultural education programming; curriculum and lesson planning; effective teaching characteristics; and program management. Field experiences and travel may be required as part of the course.
