MUED 700 - Historical and Philosophical Foundations of Music Education

Introduction to the historical and philosophical foundations of music education and its role in culture and society. Students will investigate the history of music education, its impact on present curricular trends, and critique major philosophies that shaped the teaching of music in public education. Additionally, students will develop their own philosophy of music education based on extant historical and philosophical foundations.
