Major Prerequisites
Prerequisites to the major which totals 27 hours
Major Requirements
HIST 499 and 24 additional hours of upper-division (300-400) courses divided among three areas of study and upper level history electives: a) United States History, b) European History, and c) World History. HIST 299 should be completed before commencing upper level studies. Majors must then complete at least six hours from each of the three areas of study:
United States History
(at least six hours)
European History
(at least six hours)
World History
(at least six hours)
Upper Level History Electives
(at least six hours)
Students may select any two upper level history courses from those listed above or the following special courses.*
*The combined total of coursework applied to the major from the following categories of special courses may not exceed nine hours and no more than six hours may be applied from any single category: Special Topics, Travel-Study, Internships, and Independent Study courses. All requirements for the B.A. or B.S. degree must be met, including completion of a minor or second major.
