Land Surveying and Geomatics Certificate (LSGC) CP10

The Land Surveying and Geomatics Certificate (LSGC) program defines a group of courses offered by the Department of Agriculture, Geoscience, and Natural Resources and the Department of Engineering that are formulated to meet the Tennessee Board of Examiners for Land Surveyors (TBELS) educational requirements to apply for licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).

Students completing B.S. degree requirements in a science-based undergraduate curriculum or who have already completed a bachelor’s degree are eligible to seek the certificate provided they have completed at least one semester of college-level mathematics.

The following courses, offered at The University of Tennessee at Martin, are required for the certificate. A minimum grade of C is required for each course taken for the Land Surveying and Geomatics Certificate.

AGET 454 - Land Surveying with GPS Credit(s): 3
AGET 456 - Boundary Control and Legal Principles Credit(s): 3
AGET 458 - Subdivision Site Planning and Development Credit(s): 3

AGET 352 - Introduction to Land Surveying Principles Credit(s): 3

AGRI 270 - Introduction to Geospatial Technology Credit(s): 3
GEOG 310 - Principles of Geographic Information Systems Credit(s): 3
- Students seeking to use transfer credit from another institution for any of the courses listed should contact the certificate coordinator. No more than 6 hours of transfer credit may be applied to this certificate.
