HIST 441 - History of Latin America

An examination of main topics such as conquest, colonialism, independence movements, civil wars and revolutions, economic upheavals and political instability in Latin America and the Caribbean Basin, with special emphasis on the roles of church and state (including the military) and the challenges faced by diverse and stratified societies.
