CHEM 341 is the first part of a two-semester sequence of organic chemistry covering the structure, synthesis and reactions of alkanes, alkenes and alkynes. Other topics include stereochemistry, nucleophilic substitution reactions, elimination reactions, addition reactions, reaction mechanisms, multi-step synthesis, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.

Prerequisite(s): CHEM 121 and CHEM 122 with grades of C or better.
