The major in Psychology is designed for students who want to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree and attend graduate or professional school, or enter the workforce in a variety of applied areas, including mental health, drug rehabilitation, business, industry, or human resources.
Following the American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines for ethical behavior is an essential part of training and education. Students are expected to follow the APA guidelines in all field work and research. If a student places the welfare of a patient, client, or research participant in jeopardy and is determined to be inappropriate or irresponsible, the student will be removed from the course, receive a failing grade for the course and additional disciplinary action may be taken (such as removal from the psychology program). In addition, all general education requirements for the B.A. or B.S. Degree must be met. A minor is required for the B.A. option.
