Food and Nutrition Concentration (1211)

The Food and Nutrition concentration (1211) is designed to provide a broad education in the food and nutrition sciences, with a supporting background in the physical and biological sciences. The Food and Nutrition concentration prepares graduates for careers in food science, food technology, child nutrition services (formerly school food services), college and university food management, commercial enterprises, institutional food management, and supervisory functions in various congregate feeding settings.
Students must complete either a supervised field experience or 12 hours of upper-division restricted electives. Both options allow students the opportunity to align their academic program with their career goals.
