Ecology and Environmental Biology Concentration (6213)


The concentration in Ecology and Environmental Biology is supported by coursework from the Departments of Agriculture, Geosciences and Natural Resources; Chemistry and Physics; and Mathematics and Statistics and is composed of 45 hours of courses from the Department of Biological Sciences as detailed below.

In addition to the basic skills provided by successful completion of the required supporting courses in Chemistry and Mathematics, students in the Ecology and Environmental Biology concentration are required to complete one of the following courses and earn a grade of C or better in each of the selected courses:

Fourteen additional hours selected from upper-division courses offered by the Department of Biological Sciences. It is recommended that elective hours be chosen from the following Environmental Electives:

Up to six hours of Biochemistry (BCHE), PLSC 341 , or SOIL 430  may be used to satisfy the elective requirement. Students must earn a grade of C or better in all elective courses.
