Animal Science Minor

The Animal Science Minor offers students a comprehensive introduction to the biological, physiological, and management aspects of animals. This program complements a wide range of majors by providing foundational knowledge in animal nutrition, genetics, reproduction, health, and behavior. Students explore the scientific principles that support animal production, welfare, and research, while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills relevant to both agricultural and companion animal industries. Through coursework and hands-on learning experiences, students gain an appreciation for the role of animals in society and the importance of ethical, sustainable practices in animal care. The minor enhances career preparation for students pursuing fields such as zoological management, animal research, or agricultural education.
