History: General Concentration (2911), B.A.

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a major in History consists of 42 credit hours of coursework and includes the completion of coursework to satisfy additional requirements of the B.A. degree. Students may select from among the following concentrations:

In general, majors should work during their freshman and sophomore years toward the completion of the general education requirements and additional requirements toward the Bachelor of Arts and the sophomore level methods course, HIST 299.

This general history degree requires a broad course of study in various geographic areas and time periods. The research and writing emphasis of this program prepares students for many careers and graduate school opportunities.

Some recommended minors for General History include foreign languages, English, philosophy, political science, international studies, mass media and strategic communication, women and gender studies, African American studies, or business.
