Basic Unmanned Aircraft Systems Certificate Program

Unmanned aircraft systems represent an area of technological knowledge that provides utility across multiple disciplines. A variety of public and private entities are needing individuals with a knowledge of unmanned aircraft systems for employment. Students wishing to demonstrate a basic level of competency in unmanned aircraft systems have the opportunity to complete this certificate.

The following courses, offered at The University of Tennessee at Martin, are required for the certificate. A minimum grade of C is required for each course taken for the Basic Unmanned Aircraft Systems Certificate.

Choose one of the following courses:

AGET 110 - Introduction to Agricultural Engineering Credit(s): 3
or
NRM 100 - Introduction to Natural Resource Management Credit(s): 3
or
PLSC 110 - Introductory Plant and Soil Science Credit(s): 3
(If a high school student takes UTM NRM 100 or UTM PLSC 110 for dual enrollment, it can take the place of the student’s third lab science requirement.)

AGRI 207 - Unmanned Aircraft Remote Pilot Certification Credit(s): 3
AGRI 270 - Introduction to Geospatial Technology Credit(s): 3
Students seeking to use transfer credit from another institution for any of the courses listed should contact the certificate coordinator. No more than 6 hours of transfer credit may be applied to this certificate.
