Forestry Certification Program

Forestry represents specialized knowledge within Natural Resources Management. A variety of public and private entities require a knowledge of forestry for employment. Students wishing to demonstrate a level of competency in forestry have the opportunity to complete this certificate.

The following courses, offered at The University of Tennessee at Martin, are required for the certificate. A minimum grade of C is required for each course taken for the Forestry Certificate.

NRM 100 - Introduction to Natural Resource Management Credit(s): 3
SOIL 210 - Soil Science Credit(s): 4
PLSC 341 - Dendrology and Forest Ecology Credit(s): 3
PLSC 410 - Silviculture Credit(s): 3
Students seeking to use transfer credit from another institution for any of the courses listed should contact the certificate coordinator. No more than 6 hours of transfer credit may be applied to this certificate.
