The Department of Computer Science offers a wide range of computer science and cybersecurity courses to support the B.S. degree with a major in cybersecurity (6640). These courses are designed to prepare students for a wide variety of cybersecurity careers designing and protecting systems in business, education, government, and industry. The courses also provide the foundation for graduate study in computer science, cybersecurity, or related fields. The courses blend theory and practice to prepare the students for careers in a rapidly changing discipline.
If a student is not prepared to enter Elementary Statistics and Probability as the first mathematics course, he/she may be required to take college algebra and/or pre-calculus.
In addition to the course requirements for the major, all general education requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree must be met.
The completion of a minor is optional.
