An introduction to the biology of marine ecosystems. Topics will include the physical and chemical nature of marine systems, the geology of oceans and ocean currents, the biology and classification of the organisms that occupy the varied habitats of marine environments, and the major threats to marine ecosystems.

Prerequisite(s): BIOL 130 and BIOL 140 with grade of C or better or instructors approval.
