AGEC 450 - Leadership in Agricultural Business

This course is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in agribusiness by focusing on personal development, entrepreneurial thinking, and responsible decision-making. Students will explore foundational leadership principles, develop practical skills in communication and team building, and gain insights into personal finance, career readiness, and economic resilience. Emphasis is placed on experiential learning through case studies, group discussion, self-assessment tools, and the integration of key texts focused on three main areas: responsibility, leadership, and management. The course culminates in a professional growth portfolio that integrates students’ personal and career goals with the concepts learned throughout the semester.

Prerequisite(s): Students must be of junior standing.
