MUS 710 - Graduate Instrumental Conducting II

This course will continue the development of study set forth in Graduate Instrumental Conducting I. In addition to the addition of advanced score study, gestural work, and rehearsal techniques using the core repertoire of the student’s major ensemble, students enrolled in this course will explore the essentials of the conducted chamber music repertoire of their major ensemble in preparation for possible doctoral work in conducting. Individual lessons will serve as the major mode of instructional delivery of this course, though if multiple students enroll concurrently, a conducting seminar may be added to discuss relevant topics.
